The Cortiva Institute is a certified proprietary training facility dedicated exclusively to massage therapy and health training with campuses across the United States. Its Mission Statement: “Our Mission is to provide innovative and practical wellness and health education.”

Massage Therapy Program

The Cortiva Institute Specializes in training professionals in the healing art of massage therapy. The professional program requires 750 hours of classroom and practical experience. The instructors are highly experienced professionals who are dedicated to transferring their skills and knowledge in an effective and efficient manner. A student may finish in either 3 or 4 quarters. The Professional program has been designed with the needs of the student in mind so that students can have both a rich and rewarding personal life and full time professional training.

Some campuses offer an extension option of an extra 250 hours of advanced study. Although the standard 750 hour professional program is designed so that the graduate is qualified to work for as a massage therapist either in an independent practice or as an employee in a variety of settings, the advanced option takes the student further into client centered care.

  • Massage Therapy – Its Theoretical Basis and How it is Practiced
  • Anatomy – structure and organs of the human body
  • Physiology – dynamic processes of the body
  • Kinesiology – physics of motion
  • Pathology – the study of the causes of disease
  • Business Practices for independent practice
  • Professional Ethics of Massage Therapy
  • Business and Professional Communications
  • Massage Research and the Application of Clinical Reasoning

Cortiva Institute is a member of the SEG which has developed an extensive network of employers in the field of client centered massage therapy clinics and stands ready to assist program graduates as they transition from students to employees and even employers. Graduation neither guarantees employment nor any specific salary range. While acknowledging that in the end success depends on the individual the Cortiva Institute’s career services will be available to its graduates from the day they graduate until they are ready to leave the profession.
